Juchli Engineering design and fabricated a 16 foot by 12 foot by 8 foot tall modular room, complete with multiple integrated electronic puzzles, to be used as a mobile escape room game by the Explore Edmonton/Edmonton Tourism department of Edmonton Economic Development Corporation. The plot is an abbreviated variation of the Escape City room “Hunt for Arms Magee”, and Escape City provided the set design, plot, videos, and non-electronic puzzles on this project.
The room’s main features are:
-A modular aluminum/plywood panel construction which allows the room the be broken down, packed, and shipped relatively easily
-Can be set up or taken down by two people using basic tools (included), in approximately 3 to 4 hours
-An interactive video player kiosk with keyboard input and output driver to control an electromagnetic lock to a second room
-A keypad activated planetarium projector
-Locked compartments triggered by air hockey scores
-An interactive video player kiosk with keyboard and RFID tag input and text overlay on playing video
-Easy to wire electronics with colour coded M8 and Registered Jack connectors

The “Police Communication Box”, where you type in locations of the criminals you’re trying to catch and watch chase/capture video clips. Catch all four crooks to see the final video play, then the hidden door in the interior partition wall releases behind you.
