The mechanical team at Juchli Engineering endeavored to replace a 1970’s emergency generator diesel fuel oil storage tank in Sir Douglas Bader Tower’s in Edmonton. The fuel oil storage tank was in a small room and met very few modern-day code requirements. The team worked with the code as well as special requirements from local safety code officers to install the upgraded tank in the same room. The team was also able to source the fabrication of the tank and components from a local supplier within a tight time frame, as well as assist the client with the tendering process and finding the right contractor for the job.
As well as replacing the tank, modern-day codes have strict requirements for the fuel oil fill station above ground. Juchli Engineering team members worked with the client to ensure the station was accessible for the fillers, and safe for the building occupants.
